Celebrating Over Twenty Years of Ministry!

I was married to Willie J Watkins in 1990, before he had received his Calling. Never in my wildest dreams did I ever image or think about being married to a minister. We have four children, one daughter-in-law and three grandchildren, who we love deeply.

I grew up in Morning Star Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Rev. A. L Pryor, who had a profound impact on my life. Remembering at age six, one of his many quotes, “Just keep on living honey.  Age brings about a change.”  And, it has indeed.

My view then was that ministers and their families had to be perfect and I wasn’t that perfect person, nor could I be. I grew up loving and honoring God for who He is, yet I did not feel worthy to be called a First Lady. I didn’t want everyone examining me and watching my every move because I wasn’t perfect.  More importantly, I didn’t want to let God down.

In 2005, I was baptized in the Holy Spirit and truly filled. God told me then I needed to stand for His Righteousness. He told me He didn't need for me to try to be right or perfect.  At that point, I understood God is the only Perfect One. I thought I knew and understood that...but I guess I didn’t really.  I truly thank God for that revelation and for filling me with His Holy Spirit to be my teacher and guide.

My message to God’s people is that no matter what you have done wrong or how unworthy you may feel...through Jesus' Blood YOU are worthy when you repent and accept Jesus Christ as your Savior.
